Mountain Trail builds off-road caravans in Australia, for Australian conditions. Not soft-roaders with a sticker pack, but vans engineered to be towed off the bitumen and still be square when you get there.
Every model in the range is built around the same idea. Get the chassis, suspension and build quality right first, then make it comfortable to live in. That is why our vans come back from the Simpson and go straight back out again.
Why off-road is different
Plenty of caravans are sold as off-road. Fewer are built for it.
The difference shows up in the parts you do not see. Chassis design, suspension travel, water and dust sealing, where the weight sits, how the body is joined. Corrugations find every shortcut a builder takes, usually a long way from help.
We have been engineering vans for around 20 years. That experience is the product.
Australian made
Our vans are built here, which means we can stand behind them here. Parts, service and the people who made your van are all reachable, not in a container somewhere.
Australian made also means built for Australian touring. The distances, the heat, the corrugations and the road trains are not edge cases for us, they are the brief.
Awards
Mountain Trail was named joint Caravan of the Year 2026. Nice to win, but the useful part is why: it recognises the build, not the marketing.
