Our History
Mountain Trail RV was established in 2006 in Albury, NSW as an engineering business. Our objective was to use raw materials and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery to create the world's best high-performance luxury caravans. We endeavored to engineer lightweight campers and caravans that can withstand harsh corrugations, suit Australian tow vehicles and that have a dust-free design to be suitable for the vast Australian continent.
Precision is key in our assembly, where we manufacture laser-cut and CNC-pressed aluminium sheet-metal for joinery, which is unique in the RV/caravan industry. Our sheet metal is then secured using structural rivets, bolts and glues which eliminate the use of timber and wood screws. All components including refrigerators, drawers, slides and doors are bolted in place to ensure they will not move over the life of the caravan. We use our factory-owned laser-cutting machines, brake presses, lathes, routers and robots to ensure the caravans are assembled with absolute precision.
We manufacture our own electronically controlled independent air suspension and chassis that are derived from Australian BlueScope steel and laser-cut in-house. Without compromising strength and long-term durability, we have significantly reduced the weight of our chassis by removing unnecessary steel. All our chassis are finite element analysis (FEA) tested to ensure they meet the Australian Design Rules (ADR) compliance for off road conditions. Every chassis that leaves our factory is hot-dipped galvanized to ensure the ultimate protection against rust and corrosion.
Our roof, walls and floor are manufactured from European composite panel sourced from Germany and Italy. The panels are CNC-cut in-house to give us ultimate control over accuracy and quality. Composite panels are lightweight, strong and offer the best temperature and acoustic insulation properties available.

2026 is our 20th year of manufacturing and we are proud to be Australian owned. We don't just stop with the product; customer service is just as important.
